FAQs
- How does solar work?
- Once it is daylight the UV rays shine onto the solar panels and are transformed into direct current (DC) electricity. The inverter converts the DC electricity into alternating current (AC) electricity that is used in your home. Your Photovoltaic (PV) system connects directly to your service panel or breaker box and flows directly with your utility power.
- Do I need to be connected to the grid?
- For off-grid applications, where utility access is not ideal, stand-alone systems powered by batteries are recommended. The majority of Photovoltaic systems are connected to the grid through your local power provider. The bulk of your electricity is produced during the peak hours of daylight. Your power provider will supply electricity at night and augment supply on very cloudy days.
- What is NetMetering?
- Your Photovoltaic (PV) system will be connected to your main electrical panel. The meter will track your usage. It will spin forward when using power from you provider and spin backward, creating credit, when your system creates more electricity than you are using.
